About Us

Women For Action is a 501(c)(3) women’s rights organization that features stories about the under-recognized efforts of women-firsts, award winning subjects and other women of significance. We search for innovators with a vision and tell their stories. We champion their efforts to create a discussion and initiate a wave of action across the globe.

Many of Women For Action's interviews are featured through its six projects and initiatives such as:

Other Stories We Provide

To further our mission to promote women’s rights, equality and freedom in various societies, we tell stories about the hurdles and obstacles women and girls face in their prospective geographic region, to educate the public and enlarge our international sisterhood.

For instance, we interviewed Emmy and Peabody award winning film director Deeyah Khan for her film,  Banaz A Love Story which depicts a story about a young woman falling prey to an honor killing. The director herself is no stranger to some of the cultural expectations leading up to the death of the protagonist in her story.  To create awareness about honor violence and honor killings, Women For Action has partnered with organizations such as the United Nations Association Greater Chicago Chapter and Unicef Chicago to screen the films Honor Diaries and The Price of Honor film to educate the public about the issue. We have also provided our voice and interviewed the filmmakers of The Price of Honor film to keep the discussion going.
